Colorado Ranch Monday

It's happened. Again. It does every year about this time. I've started to forget. It must be the snow or maybe it's the cold.

Every year about this time I get so entrenched in winter that summer seems like it was just a dream.  Some far-away fairy-tale place called Drowsy Water Ranch where the sun shines warm and bright, friends laugh and sing, and animals frolic in the green fields.  Does such a place really exist or was it just me and my wishful mind again?

That sounds like some fairy tale bucolic shangri-la, but really...it's accurate. There really is laughter and frolicking.

I saw a patch of dirt and grass behind Horse Thief and actually stopped to ponder it for a moment because I was so confused. Then I remembered that yes, there DID exist other forms of groundcover than snow.

I'm patiently waiting for May.

It was in the 50s here in Milwaukee and I swear I saw some grass underneath the melting snow. It has been a very hard and cold winter here and I too believe summer is but a fairy tale I once read as a child. I am anxiously waiting for the day when winter becomes but a memory of a nightmare I quickly awoke from and the fairy tale of summer on the ranch becomes reality.
It has been such a cold winter my horse, Lina, has not had to work as hard as she should. Anxiously waiting at least until Spring when I can start taking her on the trails again. So many places we haven't explored yet.
Thanks for all the wonderful snowy pictures of the ranch.
